Sarah 'Sally' Ann Kolar was born on October 2, 1944, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, October 19, 2012, in Prague Oklahoma, at the age of 68. Sally, the daughter of Oliver and Marguerite Curl, graduated from high school in Tonkawa where she held numerous offices in various clubs and organizations and was an accomplished vocalist. She attended Oklahoma State University where she was a competitive swimmer, performed on the synchronized swimming team and became both a synchronized swimming instructor and water safety instructor during her time at OSU. She majored in education and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in 1966. She pursued post-graduate work in psychometry and taught school in Blackwell and Prague. She married her college sweetheart, Dr. William Stanley Kolar on July 8, 1967 in Tonkawa. Together they built and opened Prague Veterinarian Clinic in 1972. Sally continued to teach in the Prague Schools until she joined Stanley in the veterinary clinic as office manager. She continued to offer her services as a psychometrist at Liberty Academy. She served on the board of directors for the Pottawatomie-Lincoln-Okfuskee Chapter of the American Red Cross for ten years and on the board of the Prague United Methodist Church. She was a member of Prague United Methodist Church, PEO, was named to the International Who's Who of Education for several years, was a member of the auxiliary of the OVMA, and a member of the AAUW. Her parents preceded Sally in death. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Dr. William Stanley Kolar of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Grant Ryan and Gina Kolar of St. Louis, MO; brothers and sisters in law, Arthur and Shirley Curl of Pond Creek, Spencer and Patty Curl of Ponca City, Dr. Kenneth Curl of Oklahoma City, Dr. Charles Curl of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Dr. Charles W. Kolar, Jr., and his wife, Diane; and sister-in-law, Barbara Sands and her husband, Chris of Prague. The Kolar family will receive guests on Monday evening, October 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Sally's name to: Liberty Academy, 711 E. Federal, Shawnee, OK 74804, or OMRF, 825 NE 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM, at the First United Methodist Church in Prague with Rev. Scott Keneda officiating assisted by Dr. Charles Curl. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
