Sarah Ann Bostwick, 83 years young, of Newalla, OK, was born December 22, 1930, in Kay County, near Ponca City, Oklahoma to Ralph E. Warner and Lena (Luschen) Warner. She left this life on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Oklahoma City, OK. Sarah was the 6th child of nine children. She was born at home and grew up on the farm. When she was 5, the family survived a tornado and she has always said 'one was enough.' While the family slept under the stars, she stayed with an aunt and uncle in Kansas who sent her to dance lessons and doted on her because they had no children. The family found a new farm and Sarah moved back home. It was said that she could run faster than any of the boys and later she power walked her children while shopping and outran a snake out of the lake with the grandchildren left on their own. They moved to another farm around Guthrie and one of her chores was milking cows with her brother, Jack. He was her boss until he left home then she became David's boss. She attended a 1st thru 8th grade country school where she took the 7th and 8th grade the same year to stay with her friend and future sister-in-law, Irene. She graduated from Guthrie High School. Sarah married Willard Raymond Bostwick on December 24, 1947, in Guthrie, OK. They purchased their first home in Del City in 1951. After 4 children the 2 bedroom house was busting out at the seams and instead of moving, they added on and lived there until retirement to Ft. Gibson Lake. They again added on to the 2 bedroom house Raymond purchased because she was NOT moving until they did. The family had many wonderful memories there. Sarah was visiting her neighbor Carlene, when the pastor of Carter Park Baptist Church dropped by. She became a Christian that day and started attending church the following Sunday. She served the Lord in the church nursery and participated in the Women's group and other church activities. Sarah was always busy volunteering as a homeroom mother, going on field trips, being a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and she sang with a group called 'Mother Singers'. She also crocheted, made most of her and her daughters clothes and did various arts and crafts. She was very proud of her family. Every summer they would camp and fish in some remote area but when she moved to the lake, she was perfectly content looking out her front window to view the lake and wildlife that came by. Not being an outdoor person, she found other hobbies in retirement. She enjoyed ceramics, painting porcelain dolls, oil painting, quilting and reading. Sarah loved animals and Raymond not so much. He did take care of the 'iddy ats,' (what he called her many cats) when she traveled. She loved her dogs too. Gretchen, her long hair dachshund, passed at the lake and Ivy, her yorkie-poo, survived her. One of her doctors said Ivy was the best medicine she could have. If mother had been able to communicate in her last days, we would have tried to find a way for Ivy to see her in the hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Lena Warner; husband, Willard Raymond Bostwick; granddaughter, Shannon Muller; sisters, Ina Marlin & Ethel Vetzel; brothers, Leslie, Steve and Jack Warner and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. She is survived by 4 children, Pat and husband, Jim Corley of Newalla; Phil Bostwick of Midwest City; Sharon and husband Derald Edmonds of Merriam, KS; Mike Bostwick and wife, Debi of Newcastle; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Kelly and husband, Dewayne Porter of Midwest City, their 3 sons, Austin, Zachary & Brandon; Shawn Bostwick and wife, Thao of Moore, their 2 sons, Brady & Chance; Kristi Bostwick of Norman; Eric Bostwick and wife, Jennifer of Edmond, their 2 sons, Brooks and Rowan; Kim and husband, Mike Phelps of Bethany, their daughter, Zoey; Danny Bostwick and wife, DawnDee of Canal Fulton, OH, their son, Jeremiah; Jeff Edmonds of Woodside, NY; Kara and husband, Ryan Shannon of Lenexa, KS; Kaci Bostwick of Newcastle; step-granddaughters, Karrie Hood of Midwest City, her son, Daveon; Sara Blake of Midwest City, her daughter, Reilly; 2 brothers, David Warner and wife, Cathy of Norman; George Warner and wife, Carol of Oklahoma City; sister, Martha and husband, Dwight Tousey of Oklahoma City and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws.
