Longtime Paden resident, Samuel “Wayne” Davenport passed away suddenly at the age of 55 years old on August 16, 2019. Wayne was the son of Eugene and Susie Davenport and was born on September 13, 1963 in Oklahoma City on Friday the 13th. Wayne grew up in Paden, Oklahoma and attended Paden Public Schools. He graduated from Paden High School in 1981. Wayne was known for his hard work ethic and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed working and took great pride it in his work. One of his passions was his own tow truck business, Davenport’s Wrecker, which he did for many years. He also worked at Service King Manufacturing in Stroud, Oklahoma for over 12 years. While Wayne took great pride in his work and his wrecker service, the pride did not compare to the pride he had for his son, Ryan. Wayne loved being a father and worked so hard to help provide for his son. His pride and love did not stop at Ryan. When Ryan married, the pride and love carried on to his bride, Taylor Davenport. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his mom and dad, Eugene and Susie, and his brothers Wendell and Jeff as well. Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Mary Francis Seaton and Lloyd and Rosie Davenport. Wayne is survived by his parents, Eugene and Susie Davenport; one son, Ryan Davenport and his wife Taylor; two brothers, Wendell Davenport and his wife Betty and Jeff Davenport and his wife Traci. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as many others in the Seaton and Davenport families. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in Wayne’s honor. Donations can be sent to https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/give/119312/#!/donation/checkout or by calling 844-739-0849.
