Samuel Paul Holmes

Samuel Paul Holmes, age 75, of Harrah, OK, was born on February 10, 1936, in Dustin, Oklahoma. He was the son of Thomas Franklin & Nancy Jane (Mott) Holmes. He left this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in Harrah, OK. Samuel retired from the United States Navy in 1975 after 20 years and proudly served during the Vietnam Era. He married Beverly H. Weeden on July 8, 1964, in Oklahoma City, OK. After his military service, Samuel worked as a power plant maintenance man for Kerr-McGee, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, was an avid golfer and loved to fish and hunt. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robin Paul Holmes, one grandson, Dalton James, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Holmes, Harrah, OK; son & fiance, James Holmes & Teresa Grissam, Newalla, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Alicia & David Flaherty, Moore, OK; 2 brothers, Clifford Holmes, Henryetta, OK, Johnny Holmes, Oklahoma; 2 sisters,Daisy Fowler, Brady, TX, Sue Gonzales, Texas City, TX; 6 grandchildren, Launi, Emmalee, Justin, Lindsey, Adrian James and Jamesand many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 22, 2011, at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
