Sammy Lee Holder

Sammy Lee Holder was born on December 30, 1939, in Paden, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, October 26, 2014, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 74. Sammy, the son of Tom and Pearl (Newton) Holder, was a resident of Prague. Sammy married Letha Quary on April 16, 1958, in Okemah. Letha preceded him in death. Sammy then married Kay Whitaker on August 30, 1997, in Prague. Sammy was of the Christian faith, he enjoyed many things, but a few of his favorites were fishing, building furniture, playing practical jokes on people, laughing, and he was always an optimist. Sammy's parents, wife and five brothers preceded him in death. Sammy is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sharon Holder of Prague and Buster and Tina Holder of Meeker; daughters and sons-in-law, Freda and Robin Watts of Prague, Debbie and Steven Wood of Maud and Mark and Delena Blocker of Mustang; grandchildren, Sabrina Jordan, Brittany Thompson, Ronnie Springer, Darren Blocker, Jerod Blocker, Kedron Blocker, Dal Blocker, Adrianna Holder and Aubrey Holder; sisters, Gelena Benge of Tulsa, Pauline Clevenger of Seminole and Irene Cannon of Prague; and many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Randall Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Paden Cemetery. The family has requested that donations be made to Loving Care Hospice in Shawnee.
