Ruthie Mae Carter

Ruthie Mae Carter, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on January 9, 1926, in Paden, Oklahoma. She departed this life on April 18, 2018, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years. Ruthie was the daughter of Charles and Louise Bell (Anderson) Parker. She attended school at Meeker, Oklahoma. Ruthie married Bobby Carter on June 6, 1948, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She worked in numerous restaurants around town, and for the City of Chandler. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, and watching TV. Ruthie was a life-long member, and church mother of the St. Paul Community Church, over the years she served as church treasurer, choir member, and in the kitchen ministry. Ruthie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and church family, she will be greatly missed. Her husband, Bobby; parents, Charles and Louise; two daughters, Lena and Edith; son-in-law, Burton; five sisters, and five brothers preceded Ruthie in death. Survivors include, two daughters, Sharon Steele of Chandler, and Bobbie White of Chandler; eleven grandchildren, Tim, Mike, Chris, Jennifer, Tyronne, LaMarr, Raquel, Michelle, Sheldon, Latrish, and Jeremy; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. W.I. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
