Ruth Lee James

Ruth Lee James was born on July 14, 1913, in Arch, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, May 18, 2012, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 98 years and 10 months. Ruth, the daughter of Elton Edgar and Nancy Leory (Collins) Mosteller, was a resident of Sparks. She married Tom Webster James on September 23, 1931, in Poteau, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1986. Ruth was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ in Roseville, California, and an Eastern Star member for 60 years. She loved to quilt, paint, woodwork, knit, crochet, sew, garden, preserve product, fish and hike. Her parents; son, T.J. James; five sisters, and three brothers, also preceded Ruth in death. Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Don Shingara of Roseville, CA and Doris and Mel Sires of Sparks; sister, Stella Horton of Waco, TX; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Inurnment will be at Roseville Cemetery in Roseville, California at a later date.
