Ruth E. Pipkin

Ruth E. Amis Pipkin was born on June 23, 1911, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, July 9, 2006, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 95. Ruth, the daughter of William and Lottie Stone Amis, was a long-time resident of Seminole. She married James William Pipkin in Seminole in 1930. Ruth worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative in Seminole. Following her retirement, she cared for her mother, Lottie Amis, of Meeker, and her two brothers, Tom Amis and Bruce Amis of the home in Meeker. She was predeceased by her husband, James William Pipkins, of Seminole, her parents, three brothers, and one sister. Survivors include, sons and daughters-in-law, William A. and Anna L. Pipkin of Oklahoma City, James Barry and Barbara J. Pipkin of Joplin, MO; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Naomi Amis of Ft. Worth, TX; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
