Ruth Ann Hart, long-time Chandler, OK, resident, was born on May 24, 1933, in Chandler, and departed this life on Friday, February 10, 2012, at her home in Chandler, at the age of 78 years. Ruth Ann was the daughter of Alva and Bess (Helms) Thompson. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1951 and attended Oklahoma A&M University for three years. Ruth Ann married Conrad Hart on September 5, 1954, in Chandler. She was a homemaker, and worked as a substitute teacher for the Chandler school system. Ruth Ann was a member of PEO, Mothers Club, and the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, where she served as the church organist for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Ruth Ann loved to fish, and took pride in baiting her own hooks! Ruth Ann's parents, one brother, and one son, Randy, preceded her in death. Survivors include Conrad, husband of 57 years, of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Susan Hart of Chandler, David and Jean Hart of Edmond, OK, Jimmy and Lisa Hart of Chandler, John and Stacy Hart of Chandler; one sister and brother-in-law, Hallie and James Crews of Pauls Valley, OK; eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandson; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church, Chandler, with Rev. Allen Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler. Ruth Ann's family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses of “Loving Care In-Home Health,” and to LaDonna Keeth and Michelle Hopkins. Donations to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's research would be appreciated.
