Royce Gene Ellison

Royce Gene Ellison was born on September 24, 1934, in Prague, and departed this life on Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Royce, the son of Barry Franklin and Lola Marie (Shreves) Ellison, was a resident of Prague. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 43 years and traveled the world investigating J-57 jet engine crashes. Royce married Dolores McCubbin in August 1955. They were married for 44 years until her death in 1999. He married Joyce Smith on December 27, 2000 in Las Vegas. Royce’s parents, siblings Ray, Betty and Donald and his first wife, Dolores Ellison preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ellison; sons, Johnny and Dawn Ellison of Afton and Curtis and Glenda Ellison of Tecumseh; daughter, Kathy and Dewayne Vanderburg of Norman; brothers, Wayne Ellison of Houston; sisters, Maxine Dukes of Prague, Barbara Hollon of Shawnee, Linda and Wayne Wilson of Shawnee and Connie and Archie Wiatrek of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Sharon Ellison; grandchildren, Kristi, Jon Michael, Jeff, Wayne, Mike, Michael and Amy; 11 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. The Ellison family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM, at Prague First Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
