Roy Oliver Richardson was born on April 15, 1928, in Wichita, Kansas, and departed this life on Sunday, September 17, 2006, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 78. Roy, the son of Oliver C. and Ruth Elizabeth Wells Richardson, was a resident of Prague. He married Faye Phillips on July 30, 1948, in Oklahoma City. Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II during the occupation of Japan and in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Roy retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he was an Equipment Specialist with Technical Services. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague where he was active in various ministries. Roy was also a member of the American Legion. His parents and one brother preceded Roy in death. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Faye Richardson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Stephen and Darlene Richardson of Prague; daughters and son-in-law,Diane K. and Richard Griesel of Pawnee, Olivia R. Richardson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters, Sharon Bowman of Winfield, KS, Janet Austin of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Becky and Rick Beagle of Pawnee, Cindy Griesel of Enid, Justin and Amanda Richardson of Corpus Christi, TX, Douglas Richardson of Prague, Sarah Richardson of Prague; one great-grandchild, Nathan Beagle of Pawnee; and other family and many friends. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Children''s Home, 16301 South Western, Oklahoma City, OK 73170-9349.
