Roy Leonard Coon

Roy Leonard Coon was born on January 8, 1930, in Maud, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, August 16, 2010, in Paden, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. Roy, the son of Leonard Franklin and Martha (Hannon) Coon, was a resident of Paden. He married Betty Jean Woodring on February 26, 1954, in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded Roy in death on August 31, 2001. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was an aircraft technician at Tinker AFB. His parents also preceded Roy in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sue Coon of Moore, Steve and Marquieta Coon of Paden; daughters and son-in-law, Karen Coon of Sapulpa, Lisa and Dusty Collins of Paden; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Melinda Coon of Kansas; sister and brother-in-law, Mozell and R.G. Schlehuber of Kermit, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM, at the Paden Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
