Rose Ellen Williford

Rose Ellen Williford was born August 13, 1918, in Wellston, Oklahoma, and died April 24, 2009, in Round Rock, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph lody Fenton Smith and Martha Ann Annie McLain Smith. She married James Lee Williford on February 12, 1941 in Stroud, Oklahoma. James preceded her in death on October 10 1978. Rose was a teacher, beginning her career in 1945 in the Fallis two-room school house, teaching the first eight grades. She retired in 1978 from the Moore, Oklahoma School District. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Lucy Kennemer, Louie Lee, Glennie Kennemer, Clara Rowe, and Viola Smith; brothers, Earl and Jimmy; son-in-law, Carl A. Emry, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Sydney June Womble. Survivors include daughter, Linda Emry; son Richard and wife Christine; sisters Hazel Keener and Elise Lewis; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Parks Brothers Chapel in Chandler at 1 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2009 with service to follow at 2 pm. Interment will be in Welleston Cemetery.
