Ronnie Ray Johnson, Sr.

Ronnie Ray Johnson, Sr., age 73, of McLoud, OK, was born on May 12, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of Jack Van & Marie Robinson Johnson. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, in McLoud, OK. Ron enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1957 and served until his discharge in 1963. Soon after entering the Army, he met Nedra Anne Johnson and within 3 weeks decided they were meant to be together and they married on September 12, 1958. They shared their lives together for more than 49 years, until she passed away on January 6, 2008. Ron worked at Tinker AFB and retail grocery totaling more than 40 years. He liked the outdoors and being in the country, he always looked forward to just sitting under a shade tree and relaxing. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and yard work. Ron was a good Christian man and never met anyone that he couldn''t talk to and he loved his family. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Johnson and sister, Margaret Stewart. Ron is survived by 3 children, his son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie Ray Jr. & Nancy Johnson, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 daughters, Kathryn Morse, McLoud, OK, Annetta Johnson, Hartshorne, OK; 2 grandchildren, Christina Close & husband, Jason and Ethan Johnson, neices, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2008 at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
