Ronald Wayne Boyd

Ronald Wayne Boyd, a long time resident of Prague, passed away on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2020 at the age of 78. Ronald was born on May 18,1942 in May, Texas. He was the son of Earl and Mary Margaret Ellen (Singletary) Stockman. Ronald grew up in Bell Gardens, California. He attended school at Bell Gardens High School, where he lettered and excelled in football and baseball. Following high school, Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force. Ronald served many years as a military police officer with for the US Air Force. Following his time as a military police officer, Ronald served in hospital administration at Tinker Air Force Base. Ronald's military career took him and his family to Germany, Alaska, South Dakota, California and ended with them making their home in Oklahoma. When he retired, Ronald had served for more than twenty-one and a half years. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Ronald worked for 18 years as TDK in Shawnee, serving a supervisor. Ronald was proud of his military service and loved the country he served. He was a very patriotic person and would not shy away from putting his patriotism on display. It was fitting that the day he passed is the same day American's honors their veterans and their service. Growing up in California, Ronald lived next door to Edith "Elaine" Motley. Upon visiting home after he had enlisted in the Air Force, Ronald was reunited with the girl next door. The two began dating and were married in 1963 and were happily married for fifty-seven years until his death. The couple had one son, Pat Boyd, three grandchildren and one great grandson. Ronald was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He cherished the time he was able to spend with them. The family has made their home in Prague since 1980 and are members of the Prague Free Will Baptist Church. Ronald loved the outdoors as well. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved sports of all kinds. He enjoyed playing softball and was always willing to watch a football game with his family and friends. Ronald was also the kind of guy that never met a stranger. He had many friends and made everyone feel special. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Owen and one brother, Earl Stockman. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Edith "Elaine" Boyd; one son, Pat Boyd and his wfie Tracey; one grandson, Robert Childers; two grandaughters, Miranda Boyd and Delaney Boyd; one great-grandson, Lanndon Boyd; one brother, Donald Stockman and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
