Roley Herndon, life-long Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on April 1, 1936, in Chandler, and departed this life on September 9, 2013, at his home in Chandler at the age of 77 years. Roley was the son of Virgil and Dorothy (Jones) Herndon. He graduated from Chandler High School in 1955, then served in the United States Navy. Roley married LouElla Freeze, on May 9, 1957, in Prague, Oklahoma. Roley was a long-time employee of the City of Chandler, 26 year Chandler Volunteer Fireman, he also owned and operated Roley's Garage and Bait Shop, and was a member of the Chandler Southern Baptist Church. His parents and one sister preceded Roley in death. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, LouElla of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Katrina Herndon of Chandler, one daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Paul Ingram of Piedmont, Oklahoma, one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Carolyn Herndon of Chandler, one brother-in-law Frank Mitchell of Chandler, nine grandchildren, Allison, Bradley, Brendan, Hailee, and Erin, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 13, 2013, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler with Pastor Christine Pomaville officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
