Rodney Lane Goodwin was born on April 27, 1942, in Pioneer, Louisiana, and departed this life on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Rochelle, Illinois, at the age of 65. Rod, the son of Otis Rodney and Pearlie Bartlett Goodwin, was a resident of Prague. Rod married to Charlotte Moydell Holland in Las Vegas. They have been together 28 years. Rod was a truck driver for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, a 15-year member of AA, and of the Baptist faith. Rod enjoyed camping, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family. His parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded Rod in death. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Goodwin of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Donald Goodwin of California, Tim Goodwin of California, Derek and Norma Holland of Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Jim Leach of Kingsville, Texas, Michelle and Larry Johnson of Norman; brothers, Marvin Goodwin of Buena Park, CA, Gordon Goodwin of Anaheim Hills CA, Alvin Goodwin of Anaheim, CA; sisters, Barbara Bateman of California, Ruby Nome of California; sister-in-law, Linda Strickler and her husband, Warren 'Strick' of Prague; nephew, Brian Strickler and his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Sam and Hadley, of Shawnee; special friend, Loretta Gray of Prague; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and his buddies, Bear and Rusty.
