Robert Warren Russell passed peacefully away on May 4, 2018 at Stroud Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Maxine Russell, his sister JoAnn Black, and his parents Nena and Joe Russell. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Dainna and Gregory Mayfield, Vicki and Chuck Stewart, sister Betty Rainwater, niece and nephew John and Susan Rainwater, nephew Steve Black and niece Sue Lynn Exendine, grandchildren: Megan, Matthew, and Mary Mayfield, Amy and Jason Mitchell, Natalie and Jonathan Roach, Michelle and Derrick Furr, and four great grandchildren: Curtis and Landon Roach, Dawson Mitchell and Elise Furr. He was born on December 13, 1935 in Stroud, Oklahoma and spent his years at Stroud High School involved in football, basketball, baseball, track and even Glee Club. Once he moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, he was a volunteer fireman for the Yukon Fire Department for many years and retired from Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E). After retirement, he and his wife moved to Stroud to operate a grocery store. He was passionate about spending time with his family, watching old westerns, playing with his dogs, and working in the yard. His sense of humor and adventuresome, dare-devil spirit will be greatly missed. Private services will be held.
