Robert Van Small of The Village, Oklahoma, was born on May 1, 1949, in Oklahoma City, OK, and left this life on Saturday, May 7, 2005, in The Village, OK, at the age of 56. Robert was the son of Van Houston & Joan Barth Small. He grew up in Oklahoma City and Harrah, graduating from Harrah High School. He received his Bachelors?s Degree at Oklahoma University. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Robert retired from Western Gas where he was a Contract Administrator. He enjoyed computers, reading, sci-fi movies, playing his guitar, and playing with his dog, Captain. Robert enjoyed playing bass and singing backup in a country band. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include Kathryn Small, Harrah, OK; 3 sons & 1 daughter-in-law, Tom Small & Angela Oliva, Colorado Springs, CO, Matt Small, Harrah, OK, David Small, Harrah, OK; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Emily & James Pierce, Kenosha, WI; cousin, Joan Henderson, Arlington, VA, and other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, May 13, 2005, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, Oklahoma.
