Robert M. Longley has gone home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, October 3, 2004. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on January 14, 1932 in Covington, Oklahoma, the youngest of 6 children. He was veteran, a skilled carpenter, custom cabinet builder, and a scoutmaster when his two sons were younger. After he became paralyzed in the early 1980?s, he became very involved with the Mid-American Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America Organization, serving as chapter president for two terms. He and his devoted wife of 51 years were also active volunteers at the Oklahoma City Veteran?s hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Harold & Lenora Agnes Hunter Longley and 4 of his siblings. Survivors include his wife, Lola Mae of McLoud; brother, George Leonard Longley, of Oklahoma City; sons, R. Sean Longley and wife Cindy of Del City, J. Ky Longley and wife Laura of Van Alstyne, TX; daughters, Kim Whitlock and husband, Troy of McLoud, Lorri Hughes and husband, Larry of Norman, Stacey Herring and husband, Roy of McLoud and 12 grandchildren. Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Nicoma Park Church of Christ with Pastor Bud Brandon officiating. Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: In Search, PO Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083-0371. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.
