Robert L. Maxwell

March 27, 1933 — February 7, 2018

Robert Louis Maxwell was the ninth child born to Charlie and Beatrice Maxwell on March 27, 1933, in Chandler, Oklahoma; (of which all has preceded him in death). Robert went home to his heavenly Father with his wife and children by his side; February 7, 2018, at 1:27 AM in St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-four. Robert attended his early education in Chandler, graduating from Douglas High School with the class of 1953. Before being drafted to the Armed Forces of the United States (Army Division), he married his high school sweetheart Nardell Sneed on January 16, 1954, and to this union came six children of which one (Earnest Maxwell) preceded him in death. Returning home from the Army he worked construction for several years, later working at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in 1987. He furthered his education at Seminole Junior College, receiving an Associate Degree. Robert was a devoted Alumnus to his high school, serving as President and Secretary for many years. Most of all he was a born again Christian and a faithful member to Bethel A.M.E. Church, Chandler, where he attended regularly. Even with his health failing, he always wanted to go to church; because of his love and obligations for service. He will be missed by many. Those who will miss him more are his wife, Nardell of the home, Ronald Maxwell, Melburn Maxwell of Chandler, Linda and Steve Carpenter of Oklahoma City, Juanita Maxwell of Spencer, Roberta and Anthony Richmond of Cushing, ten grandchildren and spouses; Anthony(Keanna), De'Marcus(Shannon), Donnie Jr. (Daniella), Rodesia, Elisha, Ellison(Katie), Ellias, Madalyn(Leon), Ariel (Zane), Angel(Levie); thirteen great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Smith and Marilyn Moore, and a host of nieces and nephews. Robert loved his family dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the First Baptist Church, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
