Robert Joseph Dominic Hanson

Robert Joseph Dominic Hanson was born on November 14, 1948, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, October 2, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 65. Robert, the son of James Cecil and Angeline Gertrude (Schirf) Hanson, was a resident of Chandler. He graduated from Anadarko High School with the Class of 1966 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Central State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He married Janie (Williams) Hanson on June 9, 1990, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He worked as a sales representative for Oldcastle Glass Company, retiring after 20 years. He enjoyed time spent with his sons and grandsons, golfing, fishing and other activities. He also spent time listening to the sounds of nature with his six dogs. His parents, son, Jeff Hanson, sister, Margaret Renfrow and brother, John Hanson preceded Robert in death. Survivors include: his very loving wife of 24 years, Janie Hanson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Coleen Hanson of Bethany, Greg and Stephanie Hanson of Oklahoma City, and Billy Greenwood of Bethany; grandsons, Cameron and Carson Hanson of Bethany and Brooks and Will Greenwood of Bethany; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan McKaskle of Topeka, KS, Mary and Darrell Chrismon of Cyril, OK, Christine Fritze and Phillip Jody of Norman, Lillian and Lonnie Biggerstaff of Anadarko, Patti VanPelt of Oologalh; other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014, at 2:00PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Starland Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
