Robert John “Johnny” Butler, 78, a resident of Prague, Oklahoma, died peacefully at his home on May 30, 2020. Johnny was born on February 25, 1942 in Newport, Tennessee to Charles Floyd and Sally May (Beason) Butler. He graduated from High School in 1961. Johnny served our country for 10 years in the United States Navy traveling throughout the world. Johnny was united in marriage to Joan Helen Taylor on May 26, 1967. Johnny enjoyed doing Revolutionary War and frontier reenactments, military parades, muzzle loading competitions, and building cannons. He flew remote controlled airplanes and loved to fish. He became a master craftsman in blacksmithing, silversmithing, and woodworking, in addition to designing and building his own tools and machines. He was often heard saying, “The one with the most hobbies in the end, wins.” Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Butler; and a sister, JoAnne Leonard. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan Butler; daughter, Sallie Harrison and her husband, Jeff; Son, Jimmy Butler and his wife, Kelly; a half-brother, Michael Kelsey; Grandchildren, Ty Butler, Heath Butler, Ashley (Harrison) Potter, Justin Harrison, and William Harrison; Great-grandson, Gabriel McKenzie; and of course, his faithful friend, Roscoe, his cat.
