Robert Earl ?Bob? Clarida, age 71, was born on June 30, 1933, in Fairland, OK, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in Shawnee, OK. Bob was the son of Ross W. & Mae Nees Clarida. He attended Pryor Schools, Okmulgee Vo-Tech and entered the military in March, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army and fought in Korea. Bob retired as a result of injuries he received in combat in June of 1952 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal and the Bronze Campaign Star. He was a life time member of the D.A.V. He was an accomplished furniture upholsterer & refinisher and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and drinking coffee with his buddies. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ross W. Clarida, Jr.; a daughter, Connie Nail; one sister, Pauline Halpain and one brother, Gene Halpain. Survivors include His wife, Leora Clarida, Harrah, OK; 1 Son, Bryan Clarida, Navy; 3 Daughters & 2 Sons-in-law, Annette & Paul Barfield, Wellston, OK, Shelly & Max Wengier, Harrah, OK, Faith Morgan, Oklahoma City, OK; 5 Grandchildren, Jeffery Hargis, BreAnna Barfield, Paula Barfield, Matthew Chambers, Chad Chambers; 1 great-grandchild, Paige Hargis and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Bryan Chapel, near Salina, OK, with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Boatmans Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
