Robert Bryant Uehlein

Robert Bryant Uehlein (“Bob”) of Edmond, Oklahoma, formerly of Bridgewater New Jersey and Prescott Valley Arizona, passed away on March 22, 2020 at the age of 88. Bob was born on November 30, 1931 in Passaic, New Jersey, and was the son of William Bryant and Anna Emma (Hackett) Uehlein. Bob was a loving husband to Barbara Ann (Kircher) Uehlein, whom he married on April 9, 1955 in Barbara’s hometown of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. He was a loving father to Scott Uehlein and Kerri Uehlein, and a loving grandfather of three. He will be greatly missed. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University. He worked as an electrical engineer for AT&T subsidiary Bell Labs, as well as Lockheed Electronics, serving the latter for well over twenty years. Bob was a self-taught handyman, and after his retirement, he had his own home repair business in Central New Jersey. He was active in the Lutheran Church for most of his lifetime, including having served as president of both Advent Lutheran Church in New Jersey as well as Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Arizona, and served on the local board of Thrivent for Lutherans. He participated in regular bible studies, was a student of church history and an active member of the Masons. In his spare time, Bob volunteered for Neighbor to Neighbor and Meals on Wheels, was an avid Amateur Radio Operator, enjoyed gardening, woodworking and following the ups and downs of the New York Giants. He was an avid reader and history buff, especially interested in World War II history. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Uehlein and one sister-in-law, Martha Cambeis and her husband, George. Bob is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Barbara Uehlein; one son, Scott Uehlein and his wife, Pam, of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter, Kerri Uehlein of Edmond, Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Kendall (Uehlein) Ellis, Kayde Uehlein, and Anabelle Uehlein. A Celebration of Life will be held in Prescott Valley in the Fall.
