Rita Joyce Harrison

Rita Joyce Harrison, age 82, of Harrah, OK, was born January 18, 1934, in Paducah, Texas. She was the daughter of Estes Walter & Ada Mae (Buck) Woodard. She left this life on Sunday, May 8, 2016, in Shawnee, OK. Rita graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Amarillo, TX. She married Virgil Wayne Harrison on January 11, 1951, in Clovis, NM. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of kids and feeding the family. Rita was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, McLoud, OK and the McLoud Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bingo. Rita had a good heart and was well known for her kindness, generosity and big smile. Her favorite thing was being with her family and all the family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Virgil, son, Samuel and granddaughter, Leiloni Piegdon. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Louis & Haven Harrison, Harrah, OK, Edgel (Tator) & Carol Harrison, St. Louis, MO; 7 daughters & sons-in-law, Connie Harrison, Edmond, OK, Becky & Howard Arterberry, Tuttle, OK, Dianthia Gail Bromlow, Harrah, OK, Donna & Jerry Fish, Harrah, OK, Tami & Steve Millican, Harrah, OK, Verla Harrison, Harrah, OK, Rita Lynn & Scott Elliott, Yukon, OK; daughter-in-law, Martha Harrison, Edmond, OK; brother-in-law, Ronald Ray, Monahans, TX; sisters-in-law, Virginia Plumlee, Tuttle, OK, Verla & Duane Berryman, Moore, OK, Paula Harrison, Sherman, TX; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren with one on the way, long time companion, Kenneth Whitwell, Harrah, OK, and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK. Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2016, at Harrah Church, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
