Ricky Dale Shields

Ricky Dale Shields was born in Prague, Oklahoma on February 12, 1957, and departed this life at Stroud, Oklahoma on Friday, September 27, 2013, at the age of 56 years. Ricky was the son of Ralph and Winifred (Thomas) Shields. Ricky lived most of his life in the Stroud area and worked for many companies from Allied, Medical Disposal, and Tanger Malls in Stroud and Locas Grove, Georgia. He also worked in the oil field and was a diesel mechanic and jack of all trades. He married Debbie Murray on May 9, 1976, at Stroud, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy. Survivors include: his Wife, Debbie Shields of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky Lee and Mary Shields of Glenpool, OK and Nicholas and Kristin Shields of Pearland, TX; six brothers, Phil Shields of Seward, NE, Tommy Shields of Denver, CO, Fred Shields of Stroud, OK, Gary Shields of Omaha, NE, Mike Shields of Chandler, OK, Leslie Shields of Ada, OK; three sisters, Diane McMillan of Bristow, OK, Sue Preston, Bristow, OK, and Annita Vandever of Stroud, OK; four grandchildren, Landon, Roderick, Preslee, and Elijah; numerous nieces and nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Davenport, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery in Stroud, Oklahoma with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services of Stroud, Oklahoma.
