Richard Crawford Montgomery, age 87, of Newalla, OK, was born on August 2, 1925, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Walter W. & Angie (Morehead) Montgomery, but was raised by his father and step-mother, Elberta Downs. Dick left this life Sunday, November 4, 2012, in Midwest City, OK. Dick proudly served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He married Alma L. Ferguson on June 24, 1962, in Iowa Park, TX and they moved to the Newalla area in 1966. Dick was a truck driver in the lumber industry. He was a ham radio operator and a member of the Amateur Radio Association. Dick was king of tinkering, enjoyed woodworking and was green before it was cool. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alma and one sister, Leona Gregg. Survivors include 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Lori & David Perry, Midwest City, OK, Teresa & James Mobley, Midwest City, OK; sister, Bessie Lowe, Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren, Brittani Mobley, Cobey Mobley, Taylor Perry, Ryan Perry; loyal and faithful companion, his dog, Bo, and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
