Rev. Elbert Savage, age 77, of Newalla, OK, was born on October 14, 1931, in Madill, Oklahoma. He was the son of Roy Elbert Savage, Sr. and Viola (Mineyard) Savage. He left this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, in Newalla, OK. Rev. Savage attended Amarillo Junior College, OU, OSU and Draughn Business College. He was an ordained minister with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church for 58 years. He served on G.B.A. of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Board of OKC Southwestern University & Financial Aides, Director of Development and was Conference Superintendent for the Great Plains Conference of Pentecostal Holiness Church in Amarillo. He was the founding pastor of the Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Harrah, OK, where he served for 30 years. For 60 years he built churches and was a farmer and rancher. Rev. Savage was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Florence Naomi Savage of the home; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Lavada Savage, Harrah, OK, Stephen Savage, Newalla, OK; 3 sisters, Lucille Thompson, Bethany, OK, Katherine Savage, Bethany, OK, Elizabeth Savage, Bethany, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Jerrod, Mandy 3 great-grandchildren, Reuben, Seth and Lanie and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 31, 2009, at the Trinity Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Stephen Savage, Rev. Ronnie Savage and Bishop Frank Tunstall officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Newalla, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
