Renae Harris

September 19, 1961 — September 10, 2021

Barbara Renae (Pechacek) Harris passed into the arms of her Lord at her home Friday, September 10, 2021, at the age of 59 years. She was born September 19, 1961 in Prague, Oklahoma to Margie Edalene (Pernicka) Pechacek and Tommie Raymond Pechacek. Renae graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1979 and began her professional career as an administrative assistant at Prague Schools and Seminole State College Nursing Department. She spent several years as a manager of Greetings & Moore in the Tanger Outlet Mall in Stroud. When the mall was destroyed by a tornado, the company put her talents to use traveling across the United States opening new stores and reorganzing existing locations. She married her soulmate, companion and love, Glen Jay Harris on September 25, 1998. Together they put Jay’s talents to work and built a home and beautiful life north of Prague. Jay’s girls became her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she loved them as her own. Renae’s pride and joy was their herd of goats. She truly loved each and every one, named them at birth and called them her babies. In 2008, Renae accepted a position at Starting Point and later Stepping Stones in Boley. The Spears family not only became her employer, but her family. The two families helped each other build their homes, share special memories and developed a friendship everlasting. Renae & Jay spent countless hours preparing meals so those they served had a joyous Thanksgiving, Christmas or special occasion. Renae treated the residents with kindness and compassion and was dedicated to her job of making their lives better. Renae accepted Jesus Christ into her life and followed Him in baptism for the remission of her sins on July 20, 2021, in the presence of her family, deacons and members of Prague Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her father, Tommie Raymond Pechacek. Grandparents Edd and Margie (Riddle) Pernicka and Raymond and Anna (Simek) Pechacek all of Prague. Survivors include her husband of 23 years Jay Harris of the home. Mother, Margie Edalene (Pernicka) Pechacek of Prague. Sisters, Rhonda and husband Randy McKee, and Robin and husband Kenny Drury of Prague. Step daughters, Kami Harris Martin of Mustang, Robin and husband Mike Potter of Prague and Shalin (Sassie) and husband Bart Royal of Weatherford. She is survived and loved by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends who will miss her dearly. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Czech National Cemetery, in Prague, OK. Serving as pallbearers are Tyler McKee, Shane McKee, Joseph Holman, Macen Pettigrew, Manden Pettigrew, Morgen Pettigrew, Mike Potter, Zachary Dykes and Bart Royal.
