R. C. Hood, age 94, was born on March 2, 1911, in Caney, Kansas, and departed this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Midwest City, OK. R. C. was the son of Quincy & Lilly May Richardson Hood. He was a long-time resident of Harrah, moving there in 1964 from McLoud. He was a long-time employee of OG&E at the Horseshoe Lake Station in Harrah. R. C. was a member of the McLoud Masonic Lodge for 59 years. He was a past Worshipful Master and a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. R. C. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel Hill Hood; and one son, Dewey Fred Hood. Survivors include 2 sons & 3 daughters-in-law, Jim & Karen Hood, Oklahoma City, OK, Ken & Carol Hood, Tulsa, OK, Ann Hodam, Norman, OK; 1 brother, Melvin Hood, Hodgen, OK; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family suggests that donations may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma, PO Box 2406, Edmond, OK 73083. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK, with Chaplain Jim McCool officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
