Raymond Wengier

Raymond Wengier, age 96, of Harrah, OK, was born January 3, 1919, in Harrah, OK. He was the son of Max & Julia (Witwicke) Wengier. He slipped away and joined his heavenly father on Thursday, November 26, 2015, in Harrah, OK. Raymond proudly served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He married Helen Storozyscyn on January 8, 1949, in Ft. Worth, Texas. After the war he went to work at the Convair Defense Plant in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1979, he retired from LVT Corp., Grand Prairie, TX, where he was a hydraulic mechanic on airplanes. Raymond was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Jones, OK. He enjoyed gardening and watching football. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Ed & Johnny, sister, Helen Brechbill and grandson, Peter. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Helen Wengier, Harrah, OK; son & daughter-in-law, James & Glinda Wengier, De Leon, TX; 3 grandchildren,Julia Fant, Rachel Craig & James Wengier; 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 30, 2015, at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Jones, OK. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
