Raymond King Murray, age 89, of Oklahoma City, OK, was born on October 31, 1921, in Breckenridge, Texas. He was the son of Art King & Mary Elizabeth (Shipman) Murray. Raymond went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK. Raymond married Marian Myrtle Huisinga on October 21, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He proudly served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II, in the India-Berma Theater. He received the Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross with one bronze Oak Leaf Cluster. Raymond worked as a machinist for the Chicago Pacific and Rock Island Railroad, retiring after 33 years. He lived in Harrah, OK, for 36 years and was a member of the Harrah Church of Christ. Raymond loved fishing, golfing and going to the casino. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marian, 2 sons, David & Frank, daughter, JoAnn and 11 brothers & sisters. Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Raymond K. & Mona Carol Murray, Rosedale, MD; daughter & son-in-law, Julie Marlene & David Yoder, Oklahoma City, OK; son-in-law, Raymond Lara, Oklahoma City, OK; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, August 4th at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Harrah Church of Christ, by his son, Raymond King Murray. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
