Raymond James of Jones, Oklahoma, was born on December 16, 1916, in Red Oak, Oklahoma. He was the son of Collin and Bycey Thompson James. He departed this earth on September 3, 2003, in Jones, Oklahoma, at the age of 86. Raymond was a Native American of the Choctaw tribe. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, where he earned the Silver Star medal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Labon James. Survivors include his wife, Carol James, Jones, OK; step-daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & David Nelson, Baltimore, MD; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 6, 2003, at Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with private interment at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
