Ray Simpson "Simp" Summers

Ray Simpson Summers of Stroud, Oklahoma, passed away on September 30, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. Ray Simpson Summers was born on June 21, 1928 in Roff, Oklahoma. He was the son of Eli and Iva Pearl (McGee) Summers. Ray attended Prairie View Public Schools, dropping out of school to help his father to make fence posts and cut wood to sell. He had several jobs before going to work for John Cassidy Company in Stroud working there until he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; three brothers, Lloyd Summers, Amos Summers, and Fred Summers; Eleven Sisters, Ella Summers, Lillie Tolliver, Bessie Laseman, Modell Hall, Beryl Summers, Bertha Moore, Elwanda Summers, Imogene Bryon, Alma Rafferty, and Pat Sanders. He is survived by one sister, Nina Willadean Austin; one brother, Delmer Summers and wife Sylva; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Sanders; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the Stroud Christian Church in Stroud, with Pastor Will Fine officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud, Oklahoma.
