Rachel Avery

Rachel Avery was born on May 3, 1924, in Carnegie, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, November 11, 2010, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 86. Rachel, the daughter of Clarence and Camella (Baldwin) McCool, was a resident of Chandler, OK. She married Willie “Bill” Miller on December 13th, 1942, after his death she married Gordon Avery on July 11, 2010. Rachel was very involved in her church and loved the Lord. She was a homemaker and great cook. Her parents, first husband, one sister and two brothers preceded Rachel in death. Survivors include, husband, Gordon of the home, daughters and sons-in-law, Donna & Lee Morton of Chandler, OK, Doris & Mike Payne of Chandler, OK, sister, Janice Martin of Ft. Cobb, OK, brothers, Forrest McCool of Carnegie, OK, Rex McCool of Bethany, OK, Clarence McCool of Comanche, OK, Earl McCool of Colorado Springs, CO, two granddaughters, Amanda Berry and Wendy Sickels, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010, 2:00 PM at Living Waters Church in Meeker, OK with Rev. Leon Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Rossville Cemetery near Wellston, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
