Phyllis Jean Munson

Phyllis Jean Munson was born on April 9, 1949 in Winfield, Kansas and departed this life on April 20, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 71. Phyllis was born to Alexander and Betty (Barnickle) Anderson. She married Ray E. Munson on May 21, 1966 in Winfield, Kansas and they made their home in Stroud, Oklahoma. Phyllis’ greatest work was being a fulltime mom, she was very hands on with her kids as they grew up. She loved to read and sew in her spare time. She also treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. While watching her grandchildren and spending time with them they got her hooked-on Netflix, she loved getting to watch her movies. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; her son Michael Ray Munson, and her brother Rickey Anderson. She is survived by her husband Ray E. Munson; daughter Melissa Ann Moore and husband Jason of Stroud, Oklahoma; son Alexander Arthur Munson of Prague, Oklahoma; daughter Kaylene Renee Bernard and her husband Ryan of McAlester, Oklahoma; daughter April Jean Munson and her significant other Mark Hope of Stroud, Oklahoma; grandchildren Brandon Harris, Kiel Harris, Brittany Culberson, Michael Munson, Kristieana Peers, Jaiden Munson, Bryan Munson, Devon Glisson and Luke Hope; and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jackie Anderson of Formosa, Kansas; brother Robert Anderson and his wife Bessie of Formosa, Kansas; sister Linda Scott and her husband Virgil of Afton, Oklahoma; sister Jacqueline Finney and her husband Garry of Lancaster, Ohio; sister Debbie Tackett and her husband Steve of Winfield, Kansas and brother Bobby Anderson and his wife Tracey of Winfield, Kansas and many other family members and friends. A viewing will be held from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2020 and 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Friday, April 24, 2020 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
