Pearl Self Pernicka died January 26, 2009. She was born May 6, 1923 to John Harrison and Rosie Delila Randell Self in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She married Emil Pernicka in Chandler, Oklahoma on August 19, 1940. Pearl and Emil resided on a farm west of Prague on what was called the Pernicka Mile. Emil preceded her in death on February 11, 1998. Pearl was a hard worker and made many friends during her employment in Prague, She worked at the Dairy Mart, Busy Bee Caf, Rainbow Grill, and the Prague Hospital in Dietary until she retired in 1992. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Pearl was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Kelly, Jess, Leonard, and Charles 'Chock' Self; four sisters, Alice Collier Taylor, Ollie McGill Kirby, Geraldine Hill, and Florene 'Pat' Verbert; and one great-grandchild, Darian Roadhouse. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Emalee and Sammy Davis of Prague; granddaughters, Carla K. Roadhouse of Prague, Troy D. Saindon and husband Mike of Prague; great-grandchildren,Matthew Ewert of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Kyle Saindon and Arica Saindon of Prague; brother-in-law, Bill Verbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM, at the Czech National Cemetery in Prague with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating.
