Pauline Holcomb was born on June 7, 1926, in Welty, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Pauline, the daughter of John and Ethel (Curry) Wright, was a resident of Oklahoma City. She married Simon Merle Holcomb in Ft Smith, Arkansas. Pauline worked at Hilldale Elementary School in the Putnam City School District for 20 years. She loved to do crossword puzzles and feeding her squirrels, who would eat straight out of her hand. She maintained her yard until well into her 80s and was a mechanic when her car needed maintenance. Pauline had a cinnamon roll recipe that everyone loved but no one did quite like her. When sickness forced Mr. Holcomb home, Pauline took on the role of bread winner and nurse, taking care of him for the last ten years of his life. Pauline's parents, husband, one son David Merle Holcomb, one grandson, Jason, five brothers, John Wright Jr, Herbert Wright, Eugene Wright, Holland Wright and Donald Bynum, and one sister Margaret Bynum preceded her in death. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Taunya of Oklahoma City; daughters, Rhonda of Bethany, and Karen and Terry of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Cathy, Daiva, Shawn, Justin, Logan, Brad, Michelle; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandson and sister Bonnie Moor of Perkins. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM, at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden with Bro Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
