Pauline Johns, 91, Stroud resident, departed this life on Friday, August 4, 2017 in Stroud. Pauline was born in Tuskegee, Oklahoma on August 16, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie T. and Roxie V. (Cron) Brown. She received her formal education in the Bristow schools and graduated in 1944 from the Bristow High School. She returned to teaching after finishing her Bachelor of Education Degree at East Central State University at Ada, Okla. She returned to the Milfay school district from which she was retired. Pauline loved God, reading, crocheting, basketball and football. She saw that the great grandchildren received a quilt from her during their senior year of high school. She and Paul were charter members of the Stroud Free Will Baptist Church which began in 1954 where she has remained a member and had served as its treasurer from inception until 2011.
