Paul Sykora of Stroud, Oklahoma passed away on March 16, 1007, at the age of 85 years. Paul was born January 6, 1922 in Prague, Oklahoma. Paul was the son of Peter and Clara Raska Sykora. A graduate of Prague High School, Paul joined the United States Army Air Corps and served in the South Pacific during WW II. Returning from his military services, Paul, Willa Dean and his brother Joe started what became Sykora?s Furniture and Appliance. They, along with Joe?s wife Irene, operated Sykora?s in Stroud for 40 years. Paul was involved in civic activities in Stroud including being a member of the American Legion for 61 years, Stroud Chamber of Commerce and the Highway 99 Association. Paul was an avid football fan, attending Stroud High School games and spending his Saturday afternoons watching college football. He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Stroud. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, his brother, his parents, and beloved sisters and brother in law. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Mark and Donna Sykora of Stroud; daughter and son in law Becky and Lamar Chambers of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandsons, Jeremy Sykora and his wife Kin of Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico; Nicholas Sykora and fiance Amanda West of Tulsa; Austin Chambers of Boone, North Carolina and Travis Chambers of Charlotte, North Carolina. His also survived by the apple of his eye, great granddaughter, Grace Sykora of New Mexico; his sister in law, Irene Sykora and many special nieces and nephews.
