Patti Rae Lankford

March 17, 1960 — August 29, 2021

Patti Rae Lankford was born in Chandler, OK on March 17, 1960. She entered into eternal life at 4:26PM, Sunday August 29, 2021. Patti was the most supportive, loving, stubborn mother, sister, wife, and best friend, defined by her fierce loyalty and wholehearted laugh. A wonderful piano player and singer, Patti always dedicated her entire energy to the betterment of her family, beginning with her husband, Jay Lankford, who she married on April 6, 1978. Patti graduated from Stroud High School and was a member of The Higher Praise Outreach church, where she became lifelong friends with Pastors, John and Jackie Mitchell, whom she loved dearly. She was a passionate, emotional, bulldog, who would relentlessly persist in fighting for her family, and scolding those who dared to wrong her loved ones. If you heard her say, "I'm not trying to be hateful BUT....", you could be certain that someone was in for an earful. Patti had the biggest heart this planet has ever seen and always put others before herself. She worked hard to make ends meet, and always managed to do that, regardless of life's many inevitable obstacles and setbacks. She loved to cook for her family and host holiday gatherings, and enjoyed listening to Christmas music significantly more than her 2 kids, Sarai and Blake. Beans and cornbread or chicken fried steak were her specialty. Family gatherings were her greatest joy and purpose. She was willing to do anything for her family. Patti Rae was one of four daughters, to her parents, Quintella and Billy Mayfield, a truck driving, bear wrestling, pillar of strength and silence. Her sisters, Belinda, Traci, and Sharon all loved being together, when life allowed, and would have the funniest arguments and the best of laughs, together. Patti was 61 years old and will be loved, missed, and mourned, until we all meet again in eternity.
