Patricia 'Pat' Riley-Martin was the oldest child born to James Lee and Lela Young on September 15,1941. She was preceded in death by both parents, one infant brother, her husband Gabe Martin, her oldest child, Tony Davis and one grandchild, Savion. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and remained faithful to the end, just last week reciting Psalms 23 from her hospital bed. She became a member of the First Baptist Church of South Stroud as a youth. Pat graduated from Stroud High School in 1960 and was a very good student and athlete. Pat was a cook by profession, starting with the Howard Johnson's Restaurant in Stroud in the early 70's and cooking for various local restaurants until 1998 when her health wouldn't allow. Pat taught many teenagers from Stroud how to cook and was a positive role model and great example of what a hard worker should be. Pat became a member of Higher Praise Outreach, under the leadership of Pastors Jon and Jacque Mitchell, a church that she loved with all her heart. She loved the Lord, her children, family, friends, church members and neighbors and everyone loved her. She was known by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren as Nana and loved everything about them, always telling them how proud she was of them, to always do their best in everything, never give up and most of all to pray and give thanks to the Lord for ALL THINGS. Pat/Mama, the love of our lives was called from labor to reward on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Rainbow Nursing and Health Care Center in Bristow, Oklahoma. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by those who knew and loved her. She will be a cherished memory in the hearts of 5 daughters and 1 son. Lynn Carter and Wilma Riley-Jacobs of Stroud, OK, Bobby and Laura Riley of Oklahoma City, Robert/Teresa Riley-Echols of Casa Grande, AZ, Bonnie Riley and Jackie Riley of Irving, TX, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. So many special friends, we'd hate to leave anybody out and those special friends and family who ran to embrace her as she entered into God's kingdom. Amen. Words from Pat/Mama Love me but let me go. When my life is over and the sun has set, look around and think of me. When you see a bird flying high, think of me. When you see the big tree and leaves are blowing think of me. My journey is over and my soul is flying high. When you are missing me don't hang your head low, look up and say God is holding her in His arms and she is at rest. Be happy we shared so many years together. I gave you all my love and you gave me joy. Now I must go on and so do you. Put your trust in God and He will keep you in all ways. I love you and God loves you more. Keep Him in your heart and soul and let your lives shine for Him every day. Love me, cherish the memories. Let me go, my God is waiting for me. God bless you my children and friends. Funeral Service will be held at the Stroud Christian Church in Stroud on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M, with Rev. Jon Mitchell officiating.
