Pastor Thomas Milton Brooks Sr

Pastor Thomas Milton Brooks Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Chandler, OK at the age of 88 years. Thomas was born on January 7, 1933 in Baltimore City, Maryland to Helen Lucille (Roop) and Joseph Milton Brooks. Thomas was one of eight children. From a young age he wanted to be a Catholic Priest. However, he followed in the footsteps of his father who was a WW2 Paratrooper and served in the United States Air Force. One of his proudest military moments was playing the trumpet in 1949 American Legion National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Later in life, Thomas married the love of life Nancy (Eadie) Brooks on February 14, 1981 in Lenox, Massachusetts. Together they formed a ministry team as he became ordained and they set out to serve in ministries alongside other pastors across the nation in areas such as Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, etc. In Oklahoma, they founded the Truckers Ministry and Chapel in Oklahoma City. Locally, he was a member to the Stroud Ministerial Alliance, and began the Stroud Food Pantry. He always said, “I belong to His church, the church are the people, and I am here to help people while serving the Lord and saving souls”. He was very intelligent, loved to read, educate and encourage others. He enjoyed sharing history, politics, humanities along with religion and would challenge others continue learning. Pastor Brooks had a deep love and care for people in need and touched many lives through his unique journey in ministry. He will be greatly missed in our community. Pastor Brooks is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Brooks; parents; three brothers and sister: James Warren Brooks; Thurland Brooks; Chuck Roop; Laura Belle Brooks. He leaves behind two daughters and three sons: Kathleen Ann Brooks; Robin Lynn Brooks; Thomas M. Brooks Jr; Barry Brooks; Craig Brooks. His two brothers and sister: Michael Francis Brooks; John Brooks; Patricia Brooks Hubert; along with other family members and special friend Claudia Rice. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Stroud Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net.
