Otis L. "Vern" Dawson

Otis L. “Vern” Dawson, Meeker, Oklahoma, resident was born May 21, 1923, in Paden, OK, and departed this life in Shawnee, OK, on July 25, 2009, at the age of 86 years. Vern was the son of Charlie and Myrtle (Freeze) Dawson. He married Bessie Martin in 1956. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Trans-Con Trucking and worked as a rancher. His parents, wife, one grandson, Kevin; and one great-grandchild, preceded Vern in death. Survivors include, son, Terry Dawson of Sparks, OK, two brothers, George Dawson of Phoenix, AZ, Bert “Bo Jack” Dawson of Choctaw, OK, two sisters, Doris West of Paden, OK, Margie Harris of Prague, OK, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, other relatives and many friends. Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009, 2:00 PM, at Living Waters Tabernacle, Meeker, OK, with Pastor Donna Morton officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
