Oscar Bridge, long-time, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on December 1, 1918, in Davenport, Oklahoma, and departed this life on March 4, 2006, at his home, at the age of 87 years. Oscar was the son of Eli and Flossie Waller Bridge. He was a member of Davenport High School?s Graduating Class of 1936 and was a decorated Veteran of World War II. Oscar served as a crew chief on a B25 in the 100th Bombardment Squadron of the U.S. Army Air Corps that was stationed in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged in July of 1946. Oscar married Geneva Spencer on January 19, 1946, in Healdton, Oklahoma. After working in the oil fields of Kansas for several years, Oscar returned to his hometown of Chandler in 1960 where he operated his own drilling company. He later became a vice-president of the Union National Bank of Chandler. Oscar also spent several years as owner and operator of Bridge Enterprises, a real estate and appraisal company. Until his death, he had been employed in a part-time capacity at the Central Oklahoma Federal Credit Union in Davenport. Oscar was a former multi-term mayor of Chandler and a past city councilman. He was also a past president of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. Oscar had been a member of the American Legion for over 50 years and was also a member of the First Christian Church of Chandler. His wife; parents; two brothers, Orval Bridge, and H.L. Pete Bridge, preceded Oscar in death. Survivors include, Son & daughter-in-law, Don & Angela Bridge of Chandler, Two daughters & sons-in-law, Betty and Steve Guest of Chandler, Patty & John Greenfield of Chandler, Two sisters, Ocie Ward of Harlingen, TX, Myrtle Sula Osborn of Harlingen, TX, Five grandchildren, Stacy Hart of Chandler, Eli Bridge of Memphis, TN, Aaron Gardner of Chandler, Doug Bridge of Moore, Kristy Shelton of Sand Springs, Three great grandchildren, Three step-grandchildren, Two step-great-grandchildren, Numerous nieces, nephews & many friends.
