Orville Lee Griggs

Orville Lee Griggs was born on March 9, 1924, in Meeker, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, November 9, 2015, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 91. Orville, the son of Culley and Faye (Bolland) Griggs, was a resident of Meeker. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. Orville married Juanita Cable on November 8, 1971, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He worked as a mechanic at Sears and then in 1943, he owned and operated Griggs Repair Shop in downtown Meeker for many years. Orville’s parents, brother, Loi Griggs, sister, Ilene James and stepson, James Crawford preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife of 44 years, Juanita Griggs of Meeker, OK; step-grandchildren, Jeanita Curry and her husband, Brad, of Washington, OK and Lea Ann Stephens and her husband, Jay of Goldsby, OK, great grandchildren, Rebecca Owen, Ashley Curry, Katherine Curry, Stephanie Stephens and Jacie Stephens; other family and friends. Visitation/viewing will be held at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Meeker. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 10:00 AM at New Salem Cemetery in Jacktown. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
