Orpha Mae Honeycutt, Bethany, Oklahoma, resident, formally of Meeker, Oklahoma, was born on July 16, 1916, in Meeker, and departed this life on April 2, 2013, in Bethany at the age of 96 years. Orpha was the daughter of Lee and Ora (Curtis) Honeycutt. She was a graduate of Meeker High School. Orpha received a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University in 1941. She was a long-time school teacher, having taught at Prague, Meeker, and other rural Lincoln County Schools. Orpha was a member of the First Christian Church in Meeker. Her parents, four brothers, and two sisters, preceded Orpha in death. Survivors include, two sisters, Zelma Wright of Meeker, and Dorpha Edgar of Spencer, Oklahoma, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the First Christian Church in Meeker, with Pastor Bill Breland officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
