Orla Vern ?Tubby? Thornton, Sr., age 66 of Harrah, OK, was born on July 6, 1940 in Harrah, OK. He was the son of Robert & Henryetta Sweeney Thornton. He left this life on November 29, 2006 in Midwest City, OK. Vern was a drywall subcontractor. He loved to sing and enjoyed karaoke, playing pool and bowling. Vern was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jaunita P. Meadows Thornton and 2 brothers. Survivors include, 2 sons & 1 daughter-in-law, Vern, Jr. & Kim Thornton, Jones, OK, Alfred Thornton, Midwest City, OK; 3 daughters & 2 sons-in law, Mary & William Thomas, Venus, TX, Bessie & Bobby Perkins, Sr., Oklahoma City, OK, Candy Sitton, Midwest City, OK; 1 sister, Olive Miller, Harrah, OK; 12 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK with Rev. Tommy Mosher officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnylane Cemetery, Del City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
