Ophia L. Appl

Ophia L. Appl was born on January 11, 1919, in Bellemont, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, December 5, 2011, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 92. Ophia, the daughter of Christopher Columbus and Roxie Allie (Bennett) Terrell, was a life-long resident of the Garden Grove area of Prague. She married John H. Appl on November 10, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1990. They made their home in Garden Grove where Ophia was a life-long member of the Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She worked in the distribution department of the Newton Wall Company. Her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include nephews, Phillip Taber and his wife Brenda of Shawnee, Sherman Terrell and his wife Mary Jo of Prague; niece, Glenda States of Prague; great nephew, Brandon Taber, his wife Renae, and their children, of Shawnee; great niece, Stephanie Frazier, her husband Carl, and their children of Ada; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Sanford Judy of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Irene Coomer of Prague, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, December 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prague with Bro, Donnie Knight fficiating. Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery in Prague.
